This Christmas season find all the names of Jesus in the scriptures and what they mean. What do they mean to you personally? Make a poster or a banner with all the names and display them to remind you that Jesus is always there, and He loves you with an unconditional, unchanging, uncontainable, unending, and unfailing love. There is nothing that will keep Him from loving you.
December 23rd - Joseph
This time we are going to talk about Joseph who became Jesus’ earthly Father. What a special role he had to play. What a gift he was given. In Matthew 1:20-23 It tells how the angel came to him and told him about Mary and about the baby she would soon be having. This many-many-many great-grandson of King David was comforted by the angel telling him to not be afraid and that he could trust in God’s way and that this child would be the one that would be God that would come to earth. The angel told Joseph to name the baby Jesus because he would be the one that would rescue the world and save all the children of God from their selfishness and sinfulness that had held them captive and will hold them captive if they let it. He told Joseph the carpenter that He would come as a baby so that he would know how to succor his people and be able to bind up every hurt that anyone ever had and would be the special love that God had told his prophets to talk about since the days of Adam. This baby would be the answer to all problems, and He would help everyone who wanted to return to God’s Heavenly home.
