Many, many years after Adam and Eve went out into the world to learn how they can be close to God again they taught their children how much God loved them with His unconditional, unchanging, uncontainable, unending, and unfailing love. But some of their children decided they wanted to believe the lie instead and not remember God and His love. It hurt God’s heart immensely. He wanted His children to live the way he knew Adam and Eve had taught them, but to some the lie seemed bigger than God’s love. He knew He had to take away the wickedness from the earth, so He sent large drops of rain as if tears were falling from God’s heart to flood the earth. You can read about it in Genesis
6:5-6, 9, 12, 18. He always is there loving us even when we choose to not listen to Him. He says, “My love is infinitely more than even your own mother’s love, and I know your mom loves you so much.” He knew that he had to send the rains, so he gave a gift to Noah and his family and had them stay safe from the rains. God offers everyone a safe place from the hurt flooding our world. That safe place is with Jesus, who stayed in a little ark called a manger and whispers “Come
and partake of my love and be safe with Me.” God sent this gift even for those who choose to go against God’s unconditional, unchanging, uncontainable, unending, and unfailing love because everyone who has lived and will live on this earth is His child and He never forgets them, and gives them their choices, sometimes they are just sent to another room for a while.
This Christmas season think about a time when you felt like everything was going wrong like a flood. Then think of how you were able to make it through that time with the love from God and your family. Show another person or family that they can make it through life’s floods by showing Jesus’ love by serving them in a small way.
